My biggest finding and 'Ah ha moment' was when a real estate trainer in the early 2000's decided to franchise out a more ethical real estate system. Here is a snapshot of what happened.
He had 312 real estate office join this crusade. But 12 months later, more than 100 agencies opted out as they were making less money. By the year 2020 more than 85% had either gone out of business or gone back to their old ways.
It turned out that by removing certain methods and advertising that due to less exposure, less future business was won and agents in this system made less money and risked a downward spiral of market share.
I tell you this because it shows very clearly that the old way of doing real estate favours the real estate agent. But to be fair, they are following a system that helps them survive. Would you consciously follow a pathway with a proven 85% failure rate?
